The Canadian Red Cross Society, a not for profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in Canada and throughout the world, is currently seeking an HR Marketing Officer. In this position, you will be responsible for sourcing and cultivating the future talent pool in Canada for future missions with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC. This will be done through reaching out to potential talent pools and jointly brand the ICRC as well as CRC as attractive employers of choice.

The focus is on relevant associations, social networks, diaspora, academic circles, schools and universities. Branding activities in such places may include conducting campaigns for specific positions, all in line with the geographical, linguistic and operational priorities set by the ICRC and, depending on the emergency level, with a short, mid, or long-term perspective and in direct relation with the respective regional strategic frameworks of the ICRC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Strategy and Planning

· With colleagues, analyses and creates projections of talent requirements. Develop talent market analysis, sourcing projections with responsive strategy and plans to ensure current and future targets are met.

· Researches and evaluates existing and potential sourcing channels and recommends new sources for active and passive talent acquisition, depending on local environment analysis.

· Conducts ongoing research and analysis to keep abreast of labour market conditions, organizational changes and updates strategies and plans as outlooks evolve.

· Monitors and supports planning of recruitment budgets, including annual forecasting.

Execution of sourcing strategies

· Pursues, cultivates and nurtures relationships with communities and educational entities to promote the ICRC and the Red Cross Movement as an attractive employer.

· Develops approaches and tools to carry out talent sourcing at relevant events where required personally attends and presents at these events.

· Develops and executes innovative activities on social media to source various pools of candidates.

· Generates a pipeline of candidates to meet ICRC needs. Upon request from the ICRC holds pre-selection interviews and organizes assessment centers.

· Coaches suitable candidates and introduces them to the recruitment procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications and Knowledge

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent.

Experience

· Have a professional experience with employer branding and recruitment on social media (i.e. LinkedIn).

· Have a not for profit experience abroad, ideally with the ICRC or CRC.

· Have strong experience in human resources, marketing and/or project management.

· Have a professional regional network in the recruitment sector.

· Experience of reporting within a matrix managed environment with multiple management stakeholders would be an asset.

Skills and Attributes

· Excellent command of English and French (oral and written) is essential. Command of any additional language including Spanish Arabic, Russian.

· Excellent communication and networking skills (proven ability to take initiative and build strong and productive personal relationships).

· Self-learner, high degree of autonomy and proven organizational skills.

· Solution-oriented.

· Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

· Willing to travel extensively.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· The majority of the work is performed in typical office environment.

· Ability to work non-traditional hours on short notice.

· Travel within Canada and internationally including to difficult/restricted locations may be required.
